Step 1: Engage the parking brake in your Scenic.
1. Press the parking brake pedal all the way down with your foot.
2. Make sure the parking brake light on the dashboard is illuminated.
Step 2: Turn the ignition on without starting the engine.
1. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position.
2. Don't start the engine.
Step 3: Press and hold the "OK" button on the steering wheel control.
1. Press and hold the "OK" button for at least 5 seconds.
2. The message "Parking Brake Reset OK" will appear on the dashboard.
Step 4: Release the parking brake pedal.
1. Release the parking brake pedal slowly.
2. The parking brake light on the dashboard should turn off.
Step 5: Turn the ignition off.
1. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.
2. Remove the key from the ignition.
The check parking brake message should now be reset and the parking brake will function normally.
