- A new key fob
- An Audi A6 with the ignition turned off
- A VAG-COM diagnostic tool
Here are the steps involved:
1. Insert the new key fob into the ignition of the Audi A6.
2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position, but do not start the engine.
3. Connect the VAG-COM diagnostic tool to the Audi A6.
4. Select the "Control Module" option from the VAG-COM menu.
5. Select the "Immobilizer" module from the list of control modules.
6. Select the "Coding" option from the Immobilizer menu.
7. Enter the new key fob's code into the VAG-COM diagnostic tool.
8. Click on the "Save" button to save the new key fob's code.
9. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position and remove it from the ignition.
10. Test the new key fob by inserting it into the ignition and starting the engine.
If the new key fob works properly, then it has been successfully coded.
Note: If you have a non-Audi key fob, you may not be able to code it yourself. In this case, you will need to contact an automotive locksmith or a dealership to have the key fob coded.
