1. Jack up the rear of the car and securely support on jack stands.
2. Locate the parking brake lever underneath the car. It's usually near the rear wheels.
3. You'll see a nut or bolt on the parking brake lever. This is the adjustment nut or bolt.
4. Use a wrench or socket to turn the adjustment nut or bolt clockwise until the parking brake lever can be lifted up about 7-10 clicks before the brakes engage.
5. Check the parking brake pedal. It should now have about 2-3 inches of travel before the brakes engage.
6. If necessary, repeat steps 3-5 until the parking brake is adjusted properly.
7. Lower the car and remove the jack stands.
8. Test the parking brake by applying it and ensuring that the car does not roll.
Note: If you are not comfortable working on your own car, it is best to have the parking brake adjusted by a qualified mechanic.
