1996 Jetta Alternator Removal.

Disconnect:

* Ground strap from terminal (A). Do not allow ground strap eyelet contact ground.

* Wiring from terminal (B).

Loosen and Remove:

* Accessory drive belt tension, then remove belt.

* Upper bolt (A) alternator pivot nut/bolt from adjustment slot.

* Lower pivot retaining bolts, then tilt out alternator on pivot and lower from vehicle.
