Tools and Materials Needed:
* New transmission fluid (5 quarts)
* Transmission filter
* Gasket for transmission pan
* Drain pan
* Wrench set
* Funnel
Instructions:
1. Park your car on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Locate the transmission drain plug. It is located on the bottom of the transmission pan, near the front of the car.
3. Place the drain pan under the drain plug and loosen the plug with a wrench.
4. Allow the old transmission fluid to drain completely into the drain pan.
5. Replace the drain plug and tighten it securely.
6. Locate the transmission filter. It is located on the side of the transmission pan.
7. Remove the bolts holding the filter in place and remove the filter.
8. Install the new filter and tighten the bolts securely.
9. Clean the transmission pan with a rag.
10. Apply a thin bead of gasket sealant to the mating surface of the transmission pan.
11. Install the new gasket on the transmission pan.
12. Tighten the transmission pan bolts securely.
13. Use a funnel to fill the transmission with new fluid. Add 5 quarts of fluid or until the fluid level reaches the "FULL" mark on the dipstick.
14. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
15. Check the transmission fluid level again and add more fluid if necessary.
16. Drive your car for a few miles and then check the transmission fluid level one more time. Make sure the fluid level is between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
