Tools Needed:
1. Philips Screwdriver
2. Torx Screwdriver (T30)
3. Door Panel Clip Removal Tool (optional)
Instructions:
1. Window Preparation:
- Ensure that the car's windows are fully rolled up.
2. Removing Door Lock Knob Cover:
- Use a small flat-head screwdriver or trim removal tool to gently pry open the notch above the door lock knob.
- Remove the door lock knob cover by carefully lifting it upwards.
3. Disconnecting Lock Knob Cable:
- Locate the metal rod connected to the door lock knob. Press the small button on the underside of the door knob and pull the rod out of its mounting point.
4. Removing Torx Screws:
- Use a Torx screwdriver (T30) to remove the two screws exposed beneath the door lock knob cover.
5. Removing Bottom Trim Piece:
- Gently pull the bottom trim piece straight toward you to release it from the clips holding it in place.
- Set it aside.
6. Removing Side Trim:
- Starting from the bottom corner, use a pry tool to gently lift the side trim piece. Move upwards to release the clips holding it in place.
- Carefully remove the side trim and put it aside.
7. Disconnecting Door Handle Cable:
- There might be a cable connected to the door handle's lock mechanism. Press the white clip on the cable's end and pull the cable out.
8. Removing Inner Door Handle Screw:
- Locate the screw behind the door handle. Remove the screw using a Philips screwdriver.
9. Removing Speaker Grille:
- Grab the speaker grille and carefully pull it toward you to remove it. It's held in place by clips.
10. Removing Door Panel Screws:
- Locate and remove all visible screws from the door panel, usually found around the sides.
- There may also be hidden screws behind door handle surrounds or covers.
11. Releasing Panel Clips:
- Use a door panel clip removal tool (or a flat-head screwdriver) to carefully pry open the plastic clips holding the door panel in place.
- Start from one corner and work your way around the entire door panel.
12. Lifting the Door Panel:
- Once all clips have been released, lift the door panel upwards to unhook it from the door frame.
13. Removing Door Panel:
- Gently pull the door panel towards you to remove it. Be careful not to damage any wires or cables connected to it.
14. Disconnecting Cables and Switches:
- Safely detach any remaining electrical connectors, switches, and cables attached to the door panel.
15. Reinstallation:
- To reinstall the door panel, follow these steps in reverse order. Ensure all clips, screws, and connectors are properly secured.
