- New outer drive shaft boot
- Boot clamps or tie wraps
- Flat-blade screwdriver
- Pliers
- Grease
- Rags
Instructions:
1. Park the car on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Loosen the lug nuts on the wheel that is on the same side as the damaged boot, but do not remove them completely.
3. Jack up the car and remove the wheel.
4. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to pry the old boot off of the drive shaft.
5. Clean the drive shaft and the area around the boot with a rag.
6. Apply a thin coat of grease to the new boot and the drive shaft.
7. Slide the new boot onto the drive shaft.
8. Secure the boot in place with the boot clamps or tie wraps.
9. Reinstall the wheel and lug nuts.
10. Lower the car to the ground and tighten the lug nuts.
