Tools Needed:
- Flat-head screwdriver
- Pliers
- Replacement seat tilt lever
Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Locate the Seat Tilt Lever: The seat tilt lever is located on the side of the driver's seat, near the base.
2. Remove the Plastic Cover: Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry open the plastic cover that conceals the lever mechanism. Be careful not to damage the plastic.
3. Disconnect the Cable: Once the plastic cover is removed, you will see a cable attached to the lever. Use pliers to disconnect the cable from the lever.
4. Remove the Broken Lever: Once the cable is disconnected, you can remove the broken lever by pulling it out.
5. Install the Replacement Lever: Take the replacement lever and insert it into the slot where the old lever was removed.
6. Reconnect the Cable: Reattach the cable to the new lever using pliers.
7. Replace the Plastic Cover: Snap the plastic cover back into place to conceal the lever mechanism.
8. Test the Lever: Adjust the seat tilt by moving the new lever to make sure it is working properly.
Note: If the broken bit of the lever is stuck inside the mechanism, you may need to use a drill or other tools to carefully extract it. Be cautious not to damage the surrounding parts.
