Tools and Materials Needed
* 5 quarts of Mercedes-Benz ATF 220 5
* 17mm wrench
* 24mm wrench
* 8mm hex wrench
* Fluid pump or funnel
* Drain pan
* Rags
* Safety glasses
Instructions
1. Park your car on a level surface. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down. Engage the parking brake.
2. Locate the transmission fluid drain plug. The drain plug is located on the bottom of the transmission pan. It is a 17mm bolt.
3. Place a drain pan under the transmission fluid drain plug.
4. Use the 17mm wrench to loosen the transmission fluid drain plug. Allow the fluid to drain into the drain pan.
5. Replace the transmission fluid drain plug. Tighten the drain plug snugly.
6. Locate the transmission fluid fill plug. The fill plug is located on the side of the transmission pan. It is an 8mm hex bolt.
7. Remove the transmission fluid fill plug.
8. Insert the fluid pump or funnel into the transmission fluid fill hole.
9. Add 5 quarts of Mercedes-Benz ATF 220 5 to the transmission.
10. Replace the transmission fluid fill plug. Tighten the fill plug snugly.
11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the new transmission fluid throughout the system.
12. Check the transmission fluid level. The fluid level should be between the "E" and "F" marks on the transmission fluid dipstick. If the fluid level is low, add more fluid.
