What are the timing marks for a 1998 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0?

The Volkswagen Jetts 2.0 engine has five timing marks.

1. The cam marks. These are the two small slots on the back of the camshafts. They should line up with the two small tabs on the cylinder head.

2. Injection pump mark. This is a small dot or notch with "0" etched above it located on the injection pump. It should line up with the "0" mark on the injection pump housing.

3. Crankshaft mark. This is a small notch on the crankshaft pulley. It should line up with the "OT" mark on the oil pump housing.

4. Flywheel mark. This is a small notch or dot on the flywheel. It should line up with the "0" mark on the transmission bell housing.

5. Oil pump rotor dot. This is a small dot on the oil pump rotor. It should line up with the small dimple on the oil pump housing.
