Instructions:
1. Preparation
- Park your BMW Z4 on level ground and turn off the engine.
- Allow the engine to cool down for at least 15 minutes to avoid burns.
- If needed, raise the vehicle using jack stands to access the oil drain plug.
- Put on your safety glasses and gloves.
2. Locate Oil Drain Plug
- The oil drain plug is located underneath the engine. It is a 17 mm bolt.
3. Place Oil Drain Pan
- Place the oil drain pan directly underneath the oil drain plug.
- Make sure the oil drain pan is large enough to catch all the oil that will drain out.
4. Loosen the Oil Drain Plug
- Using a 17 mm wrench, loosen the oil drain plug.
- Be careful not to drop the oil drain plug into the oil pan.
Allow all of the oil to drain out into the oil pan.
- Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
- Wipe off any spilled oil from around the drain plug area.
5. Change Oil Filter
- Remove the old oil filter. To do so, use an oil filter wrench to loosen and remove it counter-clockwise.
- Make sure to collect any residual oil that drips out when removing the oil filter.
- Clean the oil filter mounting area and apply a thin coat of new oil to the new filter's seal.
- Screw the new oil filter into place, tightening it by hand until it is snug. Do not overtighten.
6. Add New Oil
- Remove the oil filler cap, which is located on the top of the engine.
- Using a funnel, add the recommended amount of new BMW Longlife-01 SAE 5W-30 oil to the engine.
- Check the oil level using the dipstick and add more oil if necessary.
- Replace the oil filler cap.
7. Start the Engine
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This allows the new oil to circulate throughout the engine and fill the filter.
- Check for any leaks around the oil drain plug and oil filter.
- Turn off the engine.
8. Recheck Oil Level
- Wait a few minutes for the oil to settle, and then check the oil level using the dipstick again.
- Add more oil if necessary to bring the oil level to the correct mark on the dipstick.
Your BMW Z4's oil change is now complete.
Tips:

- Regular oil changes are essential to maintaining your vehicle's performance and longevity.
- Avoid spilling oil on the ground. If you do spill oil, clean it up immediately to prevent accidents and protect the environment.
