How do you replace a hood ornament on 2004 jaguar?

Replacing the hood ornament on a 2004 Jaguar requires careful attention to detail and the following steps:

1. Gather the necessary tools.

You will need:

- A flathead screwdriver

- A Phillips screwdriver

- A socket wrench with a 10 mm socket

- A new hood ornament

2. Prepare the car.

Turn off the engine and allow the car to cool down completely. Open the hood of the car.

3. Remove the old hood ornament.

Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws at the base of the existing hood ornament.

4. Remove the chrome surround.

Once you have removed the two screws, use the flathead screwdriver to pry the chrome surround up and off of the hood.

5. Remove the rubber grommet.

Once you have removed the chrome surround, you will see the rubber grommet which is holding the original hood ornament in place. Use your flathead screwdriver to carefully remove the rubber grommet.

6. Install the new hood ornament.

Now you are ready to install the new hood ornament. Gently press the new hood ornament into place, ensuring it fits securely in the rubber grommet.

7. Replace the chrome surround.

Once you have installed the new hood ornament, replace the chrome surround and secure it with the two screws that you removed earlier.

8. Test the new hood ornament.

Gently shake the hood ornament to ensure it is secure. Close the hood of the car and start the engine. Check that the hood ornament is still securely in place while driving.

Tips:

- Be careful not to scratch or damage the paint on the hood when installing the new hood ornament.

- If the new hood ornament does not fit securely, you can add a small amount of adhesive to the base of the ornament before installing it.
