- A screwdriver
- A wrench
- A bucket
- A towel
- A new water inlet valve (if necessary)
1. Turn off the water supply to the washer. There should be two water shutoff valves behind the washer, one for the hot water and one for the cold water. Turn both valves clockwise until they are completely closed.
2. Disconnect the water hoses from the water inlet valve. There are two water hoses connected to the water inlet valve, one for the hot water and one for the cold water. Use a wrench to loosen the nuts that hold the hoses in place, and then pull the hoses off of the valve.
3. Remove the water inlet valve. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the water inlet valve in place, and then pull the valve out of the washer.
4. Inspect the water inlet valve for damage. Look for cracks or leaks in the valve body, or for any other signs of damage. If the valve is damaged, replace it with a new one.
5. Reinstall the water inlet valve. Insert the new water inlet valve into the washer, and then use a screwdriver to secure it in place. Tighten the screws firmly until the valve is snug.
6. Reconnect the water hoses. Connect the water hoses to the water inlet valve, and then use a wrench to tighten the nuts until they are snug.
7. Turn on the water supply to the washer. Turn the water shutoff valves counterclockwise until they are fully open.
8. Check for leaks. Turn on the washer and let it fill up with water. Check for leaks around the water inlet valve and the water hoses. If you see any leaks, tighten the connections until the leaks stop.
