- ½ inch drive ratchet
- Long and short extensions
- 10 mm and 16 mm sockets
- Pry bar
- Safety glasses
Instructions
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air filter housing (three 10mm bolts).
3. Remove the passenger side wheel and tire.
4. Remove the plastic splash shield.
5. Locate the starter motor (it is mounted on the bottom of the engine, near the front).
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the starter motor.
7. Remove the two bolts that hold the starter motor to the engine block.
8. Use a pry bar to pry the starter motor off the engine block.
9. Remove the starter motor from the vehicle.
10. Install the new starter motor in reverse order of removal.
11. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
12. Test the starter motor to make sure it works.
