According to the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles, all vehicles must have two side mirrors, one on each side of the vehicle. The mirrors must be in good condition and free of cracks or other damage.
If a vehicle's side mirror is cracked, it will not pass inspection and the vehicle will not be registered. In order to pass inspection, the cracked side mirror must be replaced.
