1. Park your car in a safe location and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood of your car.
The hood release lever is located in the driver's footwell.
3. Locate the brake light switch.
It is located on the brake pedal arm, near the top of the brake pedal.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the brake light switch.
Press the release tab on the connector and pull it straight off the switch.
5. Unscrew the two bolts that hold the brake light switch in place.
Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the bolts.
6. Remove the brake light switch from the brake pedal arm.
Once the bolts are removed, you can pull the switch straight out of the brake pedal arm.
7. Install the new brake light switch.
Insert the new switch into the brake pedal arm and tighten the two bolts that hold it in place.
8. Reconnect the electrical connector to the brake light switch.
Press the connector onto the switch until it clicks into place.
9. Close the hood of your car.
