Important: Before starting, disconnect the vehicle's battery to ensure safety.
1. Remove the Door Panel:
- Use a pry tool or a flat-head screwdriver to gently pry off the plastic cover of the window switch panel.
- Remove the exposed screws behind the cover.
- Gently pry off the door pull handle cover and remove the screws beneath it.
- Remove the screws around the door panel perimeter.
- Use the pry tool to carefully pry the door panel away from the door, starting from the bottom and working your way around the edges.
- Disconnect any electrical connectors that may be attached to the door panel, such as the door courtesy light or speakers.
- Set aside the door panel.
2. Access the Window Motor:
- Locate the window motor assembly. It's usually positioned inside the door near the window regulator mechanism.
- Remove any bolts or screws that secure the window motor in place.
3. Disconnect the Electrical Connector:
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the window motor.
4. Remove the Old Window Motor:
- Once disconnected, remove the old window motor from the door.
5. Prepare for Installation:
- Ensure the new window motor matches the old one in terms of specifications and mounting points.
- Connect the new window motor's electrical connector.
6. Install the New Window Motor:
- Place the new window motor in position and secure it using the bolts or screws you removed earlier.
7. Reattach the Door Panel:
- Reattach the door panel carefully, aligning it properly and securing it with the screws you removed earlier.
- Reconnect any electrical connectors you disconnected during disassembly.
- Replace the door handle cover and window switch panel cover.
8. Test the Window Motor:
- Reconnect the vehicle's battery.
- Use the power window switch to test the new window motor's functionality. Ensure that the window rolls up and down smoothly.
