Instructions:
1. Prepare the vehicle.
- Park the car on a level surface.
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
- Set the parking brake.
2. Remove the oil drain plug.
- Place the oil drain pan under the oil pan.
- Use the oil filter wrench to loosen the oil drain plug.
- Allow the oil to drain completely into the pan.
- Replace the oil drain plug once all the oil has drained out.
3. Locate the oil pressure sensor.
- The oil pressure sensor is located on the back of the engine, near the top of the oil filter housing.
- It is usually a black or brown cylindrical object with a single electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Press down on the release tab on the electrical connector and pull it straight off of the oil pressure sensor.
5. Unscrew the oil pressure sensor.
- Use the wrench or socket set to loosen the oil pressure sensor.
- Be careful not to drop the sensor into the engine.
6. Install the new oil pressure sensor.
- Screw the new oil pressure sensor into the oil filter housing by hand.
- Do not overtighten the sensor.
- Once the sensor is snug, use the wrench or socket set to tighten it another 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
7. Reconnect the electrical connector.
- Press the electrical connector onto the oil pressure sensor until it clicks into place.
8. Add new oil to the engine.
- Use the funnel to add new oil to the engine through the oil fill cap.
- Add the amount of oil specified in the owner's manual.
9. Start the engine and check for leaks.
- Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes.
- Check the oil pressure sensor and the oil drain plug for leaks.
- If there are no leaks, turn off the engine and lower the vehicle.
