How do you tighten a hood latch on 1997 Nissan truck?

Open the hood.

- Pull the hood release lever located inside the vehicle, usually near the driver's left foot.

- Go to the front of the vehicle and lift up on the hood.

- Prop the hood open with the support rod.

Locate the hood latch.

- The hood latch is located on the front of the radiator support, just below the hood.

- It is a black plastic piece with a metal lever.

Tighten the hood latch.

- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to turn the screw on the side of the hood latch clockwise.

- Tighten the screw until it is snug.

- Reinstall the radiator support.

Test the hood latch.

- Close the hood and try to open it again.

- The hood should not open unless you pull the hood release lever.
