Is it hard to change rear brakes on a 2007 pontiac g6?

2007 Pontiac G6 Rear Brake Pad Replacement

Difficulty: Moderate

Time Required: 1.5 hours

Tools:

- Jack and jack stands

- Lug wrench

- Socket wrench set

- C-clamp

- Flat-head screwdriver

- Brake fluid

Instructions:

1. Park your vehicle in a safe location and turn off the engine.

2. Engage the parking brake and chock the front wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling.

3. Jack up the rear of the vehicle until the wheel you're working on is off the ground.

4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.

5. Remove the two bolts holding the brake caliper in place.

6. Carefully pry the brake caliper off of the rotor using a flat-head screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the brake lines.

7. Remove the old brake pads from the caliper.

8. Clean the caliper and rotor with brake cleaner.

9. Install the new brake pads in the caliper.

10. Reinstall the brake caliper and tighten the bolts.

11. Reinstall the wheel and lug nuts.

12. Lower the vehicle to the ground.

13. Test the brakes by pumping the brake pedal a few times.

Tips:

- Make sure the parking brake is engaged before you start working on the brakes.

- Be careful not to damage the brake lines when you're removing the brake caliper.

- Clean the caliper and rotor with brake cleaner before you install the new brake pads.

- Test the brakes by pumping the brake pedal a few times before you drive the vehicle.
