1. Remove the air filter. Open the hood of your truck and locate the air filter housing. It is usually a black plastic box located on the top of the engine. Unlatch the housing and remove the air filter.
2. Inspect the air filter. Hold the air filter up to the light and inspect it for dirt, debris, or damage. If the filter is dirty, it will need to be cleaned.
3. Wash the air filter. Fill a sink or bucket with warm water and add a few drops of dish soap. Swish the air filter around in the water until it is clean. Rinse the filter thoroughly with clean water.
4. Dry the air filter. Allow the air filter to dry completely before reinstalling it. You can air dry the filter or use a hair dryer on low heat.
5. Reinstall the air filter. Once the air filter is dry, reinstall it in the air filter housing. Latch the housing closed and close the hood of your truck.
Cleaning your K&N air filter regularly will help to keep your engine running smoothly and efficiently.
