How do you change the transmission filter on a 1993 Ford Taurus?

1. Park your Taurus on a level surface and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake to prevent the car from rolling.

2. Locate the transmission filter. It is usually attached to the side of the transmission pan, near the bottom of the car.

3. Place an oil drain pan under the transmission filter. This will catch the transmission fluid that will drain out when you remove the filter.

4. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the transmission filter in place. There will be two or three bolts, depending on the model of your Taurus.

5. Remove the transmission filter. Be careful not to spill any transmission fluid.

6. Inspect the transmission filter for dirt or debris. If the filter is dirty, it should be replaced.

7. Install a new transmission filter. Make sure that the new filter is seated properly before tightening the bolts.

8. Tighten the bolts that hold the transmission filter in place.

9. Add transmission fluid to the transmission. The transmission fluid level should be checked regularly and maintained between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the transmission dipstick.

10. Start the engine and run it for a few minutes. This will circulate the transmission fluid and help to ensure that the new filter is properly seated.

11. Check for leaks. If there are any leaks, they should be repaired before driving the car.
