1. Locate the serpentine belt tensioner. It is usually located on the front of the engine, near the top.
2. Insert a breaker bar or ratchet into the square hole in the tensioner.
3. Rotate the breaker bar or ratchet counterclockwise to loosen the tension on the belt.
4. Be sure to release the tensioner slowly. This will help to prevent your from snapping the belt.
