How do you change front rotors on a Chevy 3500 van?

Tools Needed:

* Lug wrench

* Socket set

* Jack

* Jack stands

* C-clamp

* Caliper wrench

* Brake cleaner

* New brake rotors

Instructions:

1. Park the van on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels about half a turn.

3. Use the jack and jack stands to raise the front of the van until the wheels are off the ground.

4. Remove lug nuts and wheels.

5. Remove the two caliper bolts on the back of the caliper using a socket wrench.

6. Remove the brake caliper by gently prying it off the rotor with a flat-head screwdriver if needed.

7. Take out the old brake rotor.

8. Clean the mating surfaces of the caliper and the hub with brake cleaner.

9. Install the new brake rotor.

10. Reinstall the caliper and tighten the caliper bolts.

11. Reinstall the wheel and lug nuts.

12. Lower the van and tighten lug nuts with the lug wrench.

13. Test the brakes by applying them lightly while driving slowly.

14. Drive the van for several miles to allow the brakes to bed in.
