1. Locate the metal cover. It is usually located on the inside of the door, near the lock.
2. Remove the screws that hold the cover in place. There are usually two screws, one on each side of the cover.
3. Pry off the cover. Once the screws are removed, you can pry off the cover by inserting a flat-head screwdriver or other thin tool between the cover and the door.
4. Remove the lock. Once the cover is removed, you can access the lock and remove it.
Note: Be careful not to lose the screws that hold the cover in place. You can store the screws in a safe place, such as a small plastic bag, so that you don't lose them.
