How do you change the thromostat on a 1994 Chevy Caprice?

To change the thermostat on a 1994 Chevy Caprice, you will need the following tools and materials:

* New thermostat (OEM or equivalent)

* Thermostat gasket (if not included with the thermostat)

* 5/8-inch wrench

* Screwdriver

* Coolant (Dex-cool or equivalent)

* Funnel

Instructions

1. Park your car on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down.

2. Open the hood of your car.

3. Locate the thermostat housing. It is usually located on the front of the engine, near the top.

4. Place a drain pan under the thermostat housing.

5. Use a 5/8-inch wrench to loosen the bolts holding the thermostat housing in place.

6. Remove the bolts and carefully remove the thermostat housing.

7. Remove the old thermostat and discard it.

8. Clean the thermostat housing mating surfaces.

9. Install the new thermostat in the housing, making sure that the gasket is properly seated.

10. Replace the thermostat housing and bolts, and tighten the bolts until they are snug.

11. Add coolant to the radiator until it reaches the "full" mark.

12. Close the hood of your car and start the engine.

13. Allow the engine to warm up to operating temperature.

14. Check for leaks around the thermostat housing. If there are any leaks, tighten the bolts until the leak stops.

15. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.

16. Check the coolant level and add more if necessary.

Your thermostat should now be replaced.
