2. Engage the parking brake and chock the wheels.
3. Open the hood and locate the serpentine belt. It is the long belt that runs around the front of the engine, connecting the crankshaft, alternator, power steering pump, and air conditioning compressor.
4. Loosen the tensioner pulley bolt using a wrench. The tensioner pulley is located near the top of the engine, on the passenger side.
5. Use a pry bar to pry the tensioner pulley away from the belt. This will release the tension on the belt.
6. Remove the old belt from the pulleys.
7. Wrap the new belt around the pulleys in the correct order. The routing of the belt is usually shown on a diagram under the hood.
8. Tighten the tensioner pulley bolt until the belt is snug.
9. Start the engine and check the belt tension. The belt should be tight, but not too tight.
10. If necessary, adjust the tensioner pulley bolt to achieve the correct tension.
11. Close the hood and lower the vehicle.
