1. Check the battery. Make sure the battery is fully charged and properly connected. A weak or disconnected battery can cause the anti-theft system to malfunction.
2. Turn the key to the "ON" position, but do not start the engine.
3. Wait 10 minutes. This allows the anti-theft system to reset.
4. Turn the key to the "OFF" position and remove it from the ignition.
5. Wait 30 seconds.
6. Insert the key back into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position. The anti-theft system should be reset.
If the anti-theft system is still not reset, you may need to take your Silverado to a dealer or qualified auto repair shop to have the system diagnosed and repaired.
