How do you change the U joints in a 98 jimmy?

Tools and Materials Needed:

- Set of wrenches

- Socket set

- Screwdrivers

- Pliers

- Pry bar

- U-joints (2)

- Grease

Instructions:

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Loosen the lug nuts on the wheels that you will be working on.

3. Jack up your vehicle and remove the wheels.

4. Locate the U-joints on the driveshaft. There will be two U-joints, one at each end of the driveshaft.

5. Remove the bolts that hold the U-joints in place. There are usually four bolts per U-joint.

6. Carefully pry the U-joints out of the driveshaft. Be careful not to damage the driveshaft or the U-joints.

7. Install the new U-joints. Insert the new U-joints into the driveshaft and secure them with the bolts.

8. Tighten the bolts that hold the U-joints in place. Tighten the bolts until they are snug.

9. Reinstall the wheels and lower your vehicle.

10. Drive your vehicle around for a few minutes to test the new U-joints.
