When does the timing belt need replaced on a Chrysler PT Cruiser?

According to Chrysler, the timing belt on a PT Cruiser 2.4L engine should be replaced every 105,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first. If the vehicle is driven in severe conditions, such as dusty or salty environments, the timing belt should be replaced more frequently. Severe service is defined by the manufacturer as city delivery, taxi, rental, commercial, police or postal usage.
