1. Prepare the Engine: Park your vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and allow the engine to cool down completely. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Drain the Oil: Place the oil drain pan underneath the oil pan. Locate the oil drain plug, usually a 17mm bolt, and loosen it to drain the old oil. Allow all the oil to drain out.
3. Remove the Oil Filter: Use an oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the oil filter. Be careful not to spill any residual oil.
4. Remove the Oil Pan Bolts: Locate the oil pan bolts around the perimeter of the oil pan. Use the appropriate socket wrench to loosen and remove all the bolts. Be mindful of any stubborn bolts that might require a bit more force.

10. Reinstall the Oil Pan: Carefully lift the oil pan and position it against the engine block. Secure it by reinstalling the oil pan bolts in a criss-cross pattern to ensure even tightening.
11. Reinstall the Oil Filter: Screw on a new oil filter hand-tight, then use the oil filter wrench to tighten it about a quarter turn more.
12. Refill the Oil: Refill the engine with the recommended amount of new oil. Check the oil level using the dipstick and add more if necessary.
13. Reconnect the Battery: Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
