How do you change the front brakes on a 1994 jeep Cherokee?

Tools:

- Wrench set

- Socket set

- Pliers

- Screwdriver

- Jack and jack stands

- Brake fluid

- New brake pads

- New brake rotors (if necessary)

Instructions:

1. Chock the rear wheels.

2. Jack up the front of your Jeep and support it on jack stands. Make sure you engage the parking brake before proceeding.

3. Remove the wheels. Remove the lug nuts that hold the wheels in place.

4. Remove the brake caliper. Unbolt the two bolts that hold the caliper in place. Set the caliper aside.

5. Remove the old brake pads. Pry the old brake pads out of the caliper bracket.

6. Clean the caliper bracket. Use a wire brush to clean the caliper bracket.

7. Inspect the brake rotors. If the rotors are worn or damaged, replace them.

8. Install the new brake pads. Place the new brake pads in the caliper bracket.

9. Reinstall the brake caliper. Bolt the caliper back in place.

10. Reinstall the wheels. Tighten the lug nuts until they are snug.

11. Lower the vehicle.

12. Test the brakes. Pump the brake pedal until you feel firm pressure.

Be sure to inspect your brakes, including changing your brake fluid and brake pads, regularly.
