1. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
2. Locate the display on your dashboard that shows your mileage.
3. Find and press the "reset" button for your vehicle. This button may be marked as "CLR," "RESET," or "MODE" depending on the make and model of your car.
4. Continue to hold the reset button until the mileage display resets to zero.
5. Release the reset button.
6. The mileage computer should now be reset.
7. Turn off the ignition.
