How do you change shocks on a 97 Honda Passport?

Front Shocks

1. Park the vehicle on level ground and turn off the engine.

2. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on jack stands.

3. Remove the front wheels.

4. Remove the two bolts that hold the upper shock mount to the frame.

5. Remove the nut and bolt that holds the lower shock mount to the control arm.

6. Remove the shock from the vehicle.

7. Insert the new shock into the vehicle.

8. Install the nut and bolt that holds the lower shock mount to the control arm.

9. Install the two bolts that hold the upper shock mount to the frame.

10. Install the front wheels.

11. Lower the vehicle.

Rear Shocks

1. Park the vehicle on level ground and turn off the engine.

2. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it on jack stands.

3. Remove the rear wheels.

4. Remove the three bolts that hold the upper shock mount to the frame.

5. Remove the nut and bolt that holds the lower shock mount to the axle housing.

6. Remove the shock from the vehicle.

7. Insert the new shock into the vehicle.

8. Install the nut and bolt that holds the lower shock mount to the axle housing.

9. Install the three bolts that hold the upper shock mount to the frame.

10. Install the rear wheels.

11. Lower the vehicle.
