Note: The reset process involves entering a diagnostic mode via the car's dashboard. If the ABS light is triggered due to a faulty sensor or mechanical problem, this process will not fix the underlying issue and the ABS light will likely turn back on. Make sure the ABS system is functioning properly before proceeding with the steps below.
1. Locate the two white diagnostic connector plugs under the dashboard on the passenger side.
2. Connect the two diagnostic connector plugs by using a jumper wire or a paperclip.
3. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position without starting the engine. The ABS light should come on.
4. Press and hold the "Select" button on the climate control panel for about five seconds. The indicator lights should flash.
5. Release the "Select" button and press it again. The ABS light should turn off and the "D4" light on the instrument panel should start blinking.
6. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.
7. Disconnect the jumper wire or the paperclip from the diagnostic connector plugs.
8. Start the engine. The ABS light should remain off if the ABS system is functioning properly.
If the ABS light turns back on after completing the reset procedure, it indicates an underlying issue within the ABS system that requires further diagnosis and repair.
