* A Phillips head screwdriver
* A flat head screwdriver
* A pair of pliers
* A flashlight
Instructions:
1. Turn off the engine and disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the two Phillips head screws that hold the radio trim plate in place.
3. Pry the trim plate off with a flat head screwdriver.
4. Locate the four 10mm bolts that hold the radio in place.
5. Use the pliers to loosen the bolts.
6. Pull the radio out of the dashboard.
7. Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the radio.
8. Remove the radio from the vehicle.
Here are additional tips for removing the factory radio in a Honda Element:
* Be careful not to drop the screws or bolts.
* If the radio is stuck, you may need to use a pry bar to pry it out of the dashboard.
* Be careful not to damage the wiring harness when disconnecting it from the radio.
