How do you replace fuel filter on 1990 toyota corolla?

Tools and Materials Needed:

- Replacement fuel filter (check your owner's manual for the correct size)

- Fuel line wrench or pliers

- Flat-head screwdriver

- Rags

- Safety glasses

Instructions:

1. Park your car in a well-ventilated area. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down. Engage the parking brake.

2. Locate the fuel filter. The fuel filter is usually located under the car, near the fuel tank. It is a cylindrical-shaped object with two fuel lines connected to it.

3. Place a rag under the fuel filter to catch any spilled fuel.

4. Use the fuel line wrench or pliers to loosen the fuel line clamps. Be careful not to damage the fuel lines.

5. Slide the fuel lines off of the fuel filter. Fuel may spill out, so be prepared to catch it with the rag.

6. Use the flat-head screwdriver to pry the old fuel filter out of the bracket.

7. Install the new fuel filter. Make sure the fuel filter is installed in the correct direction (the arrow on the filter should point toward the engine).

8. Slide the fuel lines back onto the fuel filter and tighten the fuel line clamps.

9. Start the engine and check for leaks. If there are no leaks, you have successfully replaced the fuel filter.

Tips:

- If you are not comfortable working on your car, you can have the fuel filter replaced by a mechanic.

- It is a good idea to replace the fuel filter every 30,000 miles or every two years, whichever comes first.

- If you notice a decrease in fuel efficiency or performance, it may be time to replace the fuel filter.
