How do you change the clutch Nissan 300zx?

Step 1: Prepare the car

Park the car on a level surface and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake and chock the wheels. Open the hood and disconnect the battery. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

Step 2: Remove the transmission

Support the transmission with a jack and remove the crossmember. Disconnect the shifter linkage and the speedometer cable. Remove the starter motor and the clutch slave cylinder. Remove the transmission bolts and carefully lower the transmission.

Step 3: Remove the clutch

Remove the pressure plate bolts and remove the pressure plate. Remove the clutch disc from the flywheel. Inspect the flywheel for damage and resurface it if necessary.

Step 4: Install the new clutch

Install a new clutch disc on the flywheel. Make sure the disc is seated properly and that the splines are aligned. Install the pressure plate and secure it with the pressure plate bolts.

Step 5: Install the transmission

Carefully raise the transmission into position and install the transmission bolts. Secure the crossmember and the shifter linkage. Connect the speedometer cable and the starter motor.

Step 6: Bleed the clutch hydraulics

Bleed the clutch hydraulics to remove any air from the system. This can be done by opening the bleeder valve on the clutch slave cylinder and pumping the clutch pedal until fluid flows out without any bubbles.

Step 7: Test the clutch

Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Shift into gear and test the clutch by depressing and releasing the pedal. The clutch should engage and disengage smoothly without any slipping.

Additional tips:

- Use a new, high-quality clutch.

- Make sure the flywheel and pressure plate are clean and free of debris.

- Use a torque wrench to tighten all the bolts to the proper specification.

- Refill the transmission with the proper amount of fluid.

- Test drive the car to make sure the clutch is working properly.
