1. Allow the engine to cool completely.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Remove the serpentine drive belt.
4. Remove the bolts holding the water pump to the engine block and then remove the water pump.
5. Clean the mating surface of the block. Apply RTV sealant to the water pump gasket, then install it.
6. Reinstall the bolts and tighten them to the specified torque.
7. Reinstall the serpentine drive belt and tensioner.
8. Refill the cooling system and reconnect the battery ground cable.
9. Test run the engine to make sure the repair was successful.
