Tools and Materials Needed:
- Flathead screwdriver
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Socket wrench set (with an extension)
- 10mm socket
- New replacement outside side door handle (specific to your Beretta's model and door)
Step 1: Remove Interior Door Panel
1. Open the door and locate the two screws near the door handle (typically covered by plastic caps).
2. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the plastic caps.
3. Remove the two screws using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
4. Lift the door panel upward to unclip the retainer pins and remove it.
Step 2: Disconnect Door Handle Mechanism
1. Locate the door handle linkage rod connected to the old door handle.
2. Disconnect the linkage rod from the handle by pressing the plastic clip and sliding it out.
3. If applicable, remove any electrical connectors attached to the door handle.
Step 3: Remove Old Outside Side Door Handle
1. Roll down the window to access the bolts securing the old door handle.
2. Use a socket wrench with a 10mm socket and extension to loosen and remove the bolts.
3. Once all bolts are removed, pull the old door handle out from the inside of the door.
4. Be cautious not to drop the bolts inside the door.
Step 4: Install New Side Door Handle
1. Align the new door handle with the mounting holes on the door.
2. Insert the bolts that were removed in Step 3. Hand-tighten them for now.
3. From inside the door, reconnect the door handle linkage rod and any electrical connectors.
Step 5: Secure the Door Handle
1. Use the socket wrench to fully tighten the bolts securing the door handle to the door.
Step 6: Reattach the Door Panel
1. Position the door panel over the door, ensuring that the retainer pins align with their holes.
2. Press the door panel downward to snap the retainer pins back in place.
3. Replace the two screws you removed in Step 1, making sure the plastic caps cover them.
Step 7: Test the Door Handle
1. Open and close the door to test the functionality of the new outside side door handle.
2. Ensure that the handle operates smoothly and securely.
