- The brake light switch is designed to activate the brake lights when the brake pedal is pressed. A worn-out brake light switch may continue to make a connection even after your remove the key and get off from the pedal, keeping the rear brake lights turned off
Potential issue 2: Short circuit
- faulty electrical connection somewhere. For instance there might be damage in wiring leading to your brake light causing power from other active circuits flow and energize light even when switched off
- To detect such, carefully look through wires around brake circuits near switches , relay box or any connection related to rear light
POTENTIAL ISSUE 3: Malfunctioning relay.**
- The tail / Brake relay could be malfunctioning ,causing it to continue providing power and keeping the lights "ON"
