- Faulty CKP (crank position) sensor
- Damaged wiring or connectors to the CKP sensor
- Engine mechanical problems (such as a worn timing chain)
Diagnostic Steps
1. Verify that the CKP sensor is properly installed and that the wiring and connectors are in good condition.
2. Check the timing chain for wear or damage.
3. If the CKP sensor and timing chain are in good condition, you may need to have the engine control module (ECM) diagnosed and repaired.
Additional Notes
- The CKP sensor is located on the front of the engine, near the crankshaft.
- The timing chain is located behind the engine cover, near the top of the engine.
- The ECM is located under the hood, on the passenger side of the engine.
