Tools Needed:
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Flat-head screwdriver or trim removal tool
- 10mm socket wrench
- Replacement door handle
Instructions:
1. Remove the Door Panel:
- Open the door and locate the screws that hold the door panel in place. There will be two screws near the door handle, one in the armrest, and one at the bottom of the door panel.
- Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove these screws.
- Gently pry the door panel upwards, starting from the bottom, to release the clips that hold it in place. You can use a flat-head screwdriver or a trim removal tool to help pry the panel loose.
- Continue prying the door panel upwards until all the clips are released and the panel can be removed.
2. Remove the Old Door Handle:
- Once the door panel is removed, you will be able to see the door handle assembly.
- Locate the three 10mm bolts that secure the door handle assembly and loosen them with a 10mm socket wrench.
- Once the bolts are removed, you can pull the door handle out from the door.
3. Install the Replacement Door Handle:
- Align the new door handle with the holes in the door and insert the 10mm bolts.
- Tighten the bolts with the 10mm socket wrench to secure the door handle in place.
- Test the new door handle to ensure it is functioning correctly.
4. Reinstall the Door Panel:
- Carefully align the door panel with the door and insert the clips into the holes in the door.
- Press down on the door panel until all the clips are snapped into place.
- Replace the screws that were removed in the beginning to secure the door panel in place.
