Materials Needed:
- Small flat-head screwdriver
- Small Phillips-head screwdriver
- Pliers
1. Disconnect the Battery:
- Locate the negative terminal of the battery.
- Use a wrench to loosen and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the Steering Column Cover:
- Locate the two screws securing the steering column cover to the dashboard.
- Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove these screws.
- Remove the steering column cover by gently prying it off.
3. Remove the Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder:
- Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the "ON" position.
- Use a small flat-head screwdriver to press the release button located near the ignition switch.
- While pressing the release button, turn the key clockwise and pull the ignition switch lock cylinder out of the housing.
4. Disconnect the Electrical Connector:
- Locate the electrical connector at the back of the lock cylinder.
- Use a small flat-head screwdriver to gently pry open the locking tab on the connector.
- Disconnect the electrical connector by pulling it away from the lock cylinder.
5. Remove the Key Switch:
- Locate the two bolts securing the key switch to the steering column.
- Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove these bolts.
- Remove the key switch from the steering column.
6. Reassemble:
- To reassemble, simply reverse the steps. Make sure to reconnect the electrical connector and tighten all bolts.
7. Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal to the battery.
