- New side mirror assembly (OEM or aftermarket)
- 10mm socket wrench
- Phillips-head screwdriver
1. Remove the Door Trim Panel:
- Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws located at the bottom of the door trim panel.
- Gently pry up the trim panel, starting from one corner, until the retaining clips release.
- Set the trim panel aside.
2. Disconnect the Power Connector:
- If the side mirror includes power functions (heated or power-adjustable), locate and disconnect the electrical connector.
- It should come off easily by pressing the release tab and pulling the connector apart.
3. Remove the Old Mirror:
- Locate the three 10mm bolts or nuts securing the side mirror to the door.
- Use a 10mm socket wrench to loosen and remove these fasteners.
- Once removed, detach the old side mirror from the door.
4. Prepare the New Mirror:
- Remove the protective cover or film from the new side mirror.
- If necessary, transfer any electronic components (such as the turn signal indicator or temperature sensor) from the old mirror to the new one.
5. Install the New Mirror:
- Align the mounting holes of the new side mirror with the corresponding holes on the door.
- Insert the 10mm bolts or nuts that came with the new mirror and hand-tighten them.
- Use the socket wrench to securely tighten the fasteners.
6. Reconnect the Power Connector:
- If your side mirror has power functions, reconnect the electrical connector that you disconnected earlier.
- Make sure the connector snaps into place securely.
7. Reinstall the Door Trim Panel:
- Reposition the door trim panel by aligning the retaining clips with their corresponding slots on the door.
- Press the trim panel firmly until all clips are engaged.
- Replace the two Phillips-head screws that were removed earlier.
8. Test the Side Mirror:
- Adjust the side mirror to ensure proper visibility.
- Check the power controls, if applicable, to make sure they are functioning correctly.
9. Clean Up:
- Clean up any debris or tools left behind during the replacement process.
