1. Gather the tools that you will need. You will need a screwdriver, a wrench, a pair of pliers, and a new lock.
2. Open the tailgate and locate the lock. The lock is located on the inside of the tailgate, at the bottom.
3. Remove the screws that hold the lock in place. There will be two or three screws that you need to remove.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the lock. The electrical connector is located on the back of the lock.
5. Remove the lock from the tailgate. Once you have disconnected the electrical connector, you can remove the lock from the tailgate.
6. Install the new lock. To install the new lock, simply reverse the steps that you took to remove the old lock.
7. Test the lock. Once the new lock is installed, test it to make sure that it is working properly.
