How do you change the wheel bearings for a 1991 Honda civic sedan?

Tools

- Jack and jack stands

- Lug wrench

- Socket wrench

-17mm socket

- 19mm socket

- Flat-head screwdriver

- Wire brush

- Grease

- New wheel bearings (2)

Instructions

1. Chock the rear wheels of your car to prevent it from rolling.

2. Loosen the lug nuts on the wheel you are working on.

3. Jack up the car and place it on jack stands.

4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.

5. Remove the brake caliper and rotor.

6. Pry off the dust cap with a flat-head screwdriver.

7. Remove the cotter pin and the castle nut.

8. Remove the old wheel bearing.

9. Clean the wheel bearing housing with a wire brush.

10. Apply grease to the new wheel bearings.

11. Install the new wheel bearings into the housing.

12. Install the castle nut and cotter pin.

13. Reinstall the brake caliper and rotor.

14. Put the wheel back on and tighten the lug nuts.

15. Lower the car off the jack stands.
