1. Open the hood of your Civic and locate the serpentine belt. It is the long, thin belt that runs around the front of the engine.
2. Locate the belt tensioner. It is a small, black pulley located near the top of the engine, just to the right of the alternator.
3. Loosen the belt tensioner bolt using a 12mm wrench.
4. While holding the tensioner bolt loose, turn the tensioner pulley clockwise using a pry bar or 3/8" drive ratchet. This will tighten the serpentine belt.
5. Once the belt is tight, tighten the tensioner bolt.
6. Close the hood of your Civic and start the engine. Listen for any異响and check that the belt is running smoothly.
Here are some tips for tightening the serpentine belt on a 2001 Honda Civic:
* Make sure that the engine is off before you begin.
* Be careful not to overtighten the belt, as this can damage the belt or the pulleys.
* If you are unsure about how to tighten the belt, consult a qualified mechanic.
