1. Locate the cabin air filter housing. On the 2002 Kia Optima, it is located behind the glove box.
2. Open the glove box. You will see two plastic clips on the sides of the glove box opening. Gently press the clips and pull the glove box down to remove it.
3. Remove the old cabin air filter. Once you have removed the glove box, you will see the cabin air filter housing. Slide off the cover and remove the old filter.
4. Install the new cabin air filter. Insert the new filter into the housing, making sure that the arrows on the filter are pointing in the direction of the airflow.
5. Replace the cover and the glove box. Slide the cover back on and then put the glove box back into place. Make sure that the clips are securely fastened.
That's it! You have now successfully replaced the cabin air filter on your 2002 Kia Optima. It is recommended that you replace the cabin air filter every 12,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first.
