3. Set your parking brake and chock the wheels.
4. Locate the oil drain plug on the bottom of your oil pan.

6. Allow all the oil to drain from the oil pan.
7. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
8. Locate the oil filter.
9. Place the new oil filter on a clean surface and apply a thin coat of oil to the rubber gasket.
10. Screw the oil filter onto the threaded part of the oil filter housing.
11. Hand-tighten the oil filter as far as you can, then use a wrench to tighten it another 1/4 turn.
12. Remove the oil filler cap located on top of the engine valve cover.
13. Use a funnel to add the new oil to your engine.
14. Add the amount of oil specified in your owner's manual.
15. Replace the oil filler cap and tighten it securely.
16. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
17. Check the oil level using the dipstick to ensure it is between the "full" and "add" marks.
